                            Mission Statement

The Library Media Center is the focal point of  Brindlee Mountain High School. It is our mission to stimulate the lifelong love of learning and reading. We also strive to facilitate an open avenue for a variety of both traditional and advanced media technology to be used by students, faculty, and administration. The Library Media Center is dedicated to continually building archives that offer the highest level of materials that support a globally and multi-culturally growing population throughout our student body. Our hope is to create an open environment that promotes active engagement from our patrons to locate and utilize our facilities to the fullest.

                                             Goals and Objectives

1.Providing a pleasant, inviting, and safe access to information literacy.
2.Facilitating the use of information in a variety of forms.
3.Taking an active role in the collaboration and planning of curriculum based instruction.
4. Providing materials which meet a variety of learning styles that enable students to become independent life-long learners.
5. Fostering an appreciation of literature.
6. Creating 21st century learners capable of utilizing reference and research techniques while adhering to ethical conduct.

                                                                   Schedule

The library is open at 7:40 a.m. every school day until 3 p.m. We operate on a flex schedule in our library. Students are encouraged to come and visit anytime throughout the school day, with teacher permission, to accelerate their learning and contribute to their studies.

In addition to individual student use, teachers may sign up for classroom time to utilize the computer lab, or general library use. Several classes can be accommodated simultaneously in the library but only one class may utilize our computer lab during a set class period. Even if a class is using the media center at a scheduled time, students may still come to check out books or use our computers to look up information.
